About fabricteria Maki

Fabricteria Maki was founded in 2001 in New York City by Maki Yamamoto. Born in Tokyo in 1972 she studied in the exacting world of fashion design before moving to New York in 1997.

She has a highly developed instinct for color and texture and a beautiful balance between form and design. With applications that range from curtains, wall panels to jewelry, she has established a distinct style in couture fabric. According to Maki, the architecture of a piece is its soul. Fearless in her use of interior fabrics as clothing and visa versa you could describe it as different, edgy and above all, a passionate note of pure artistry.

Fabricteria Maki is a boutique with a heightened sense of classic fabric innovation. She has worked with many acclaimed fashion and interior designers and has been featured in many publications.

Maki's inspirations include life, energy, nature, sex and passion.

Her work-When you know it is true, then the world agrees with you, says Maki.
